Anything that makes it big does so at the price of "selling out" to some extent. However, there are those who
are happy to just do it, and do it on their own terms. In movies there is the huge independent scene with awards shows and
large companies backing them, and then there are those filming with a homevideo camera in their backyard a movie for laughs
shared with a few friends. In music there are the "Indy bands" that often have a larger following than many mainstream
bands with local and regional sponsers, and then there are the guys that play the family cookouts and keg parties. If success
is a measure of happiness, then i find the keg party band and home-made video to be right up there with the likes of the Rolling
Stones and Star Wars. Its the simplicity and creativness that makes them unique. They are appealing to those whom they meant
to appeal to, and that is what makes them tick. Video games are no different. All forms of media have the unsung heroes who
are holding down a big peice of their industry and receiving little-to-no credit for it. In this website i hope to celebrate
those who take the road less travelled in Independent game development. From solo game developers to game teams that span
halfway around the globe, i intend to bring you not the best games, but the games that have what most of life is lacking,
oringinality. Ineterviews with the minds behind these works of art and weekly reviews and spotlights of their games. In doing
so i hope to show some thanks to what is often a thankless job.
